Parents naturally want the best for their children. For some, 11+ success and gaining a place at an Independent, a State Grammar or a Secondary School of their choice is all important.

Others are more concerned about how their child will cope with the “move up” to Senior School. They may feel that their child is lacking in confidence and/or skills and desperately want to do their best to ensure that their child is better prepared and given the best possible start in a strange new school that seems a world away from their cosy, familiar Junior School.

Well, if you can identify yourself in the above, you’re in good company! The desire for 11+ success and seeking extra help before joining Senior School remains undiminished in the Northwood, Pinner, Ruislip and Rickmansworth areas – and that’s why Xambus is here to help.

The tutor, who holds a current CRB certificate, will be John Carpenter, an ex-headmaster with a wealth of experience in prep school teaching and getting children through competitive 11+ exams to both Independent and Grammar Schools. (see: about Tutor)

Preparing children for the 11+ can be started in Year 4 or even earlier, but it is usually parents with children starting Year 5 that require tuition services. (A child starting Year 5 in September 2007 will have just over a year before those all-important exams in late 2008/early 2009). Children starting tuition in Year 6 will have less than one term (or just over one term at the most) to undertake a much more concentrated workload than their Year 5 counterparts and special arrangements may need to be made.
